JUCUNDA

Formerly widely grown in Yugoslavia & Netherlands and also in France.
It was described in books like verger français and by VERCIER in 1948

In 1854, Jucunda was introduced, a variety originated by John Salter of Hammersmith, England. It has been an important variety throughout Europe and the United States; its importance greater on the continent than in England. It was imported inot the United States as early as 1858

JUCUNDA is light crimson with firm, red flesh of high flavor.

 

 Autrefois la JUCUNDA était très répandue en Yougoslavie et Pays-Bas mais aussi en France. On la trouve décrite sur le verger français et aussi par VERCIER dans son ouvrage de détermination des cerises et des fraises en 1948. Jjucunda aurait été introduite en1854, par John Salter de Hammersmith, en Angleterre.
JUCUNDA a été une importante variété dans toute l'Europe et les États-Unis; sa renommée est d'ailleurs plus grande sur le continent qu'en Angleterre. Ellea été importée aux États-Unis dès 1858 JUCUNDA est d'apparence rouge-clair, sa chair ferme est aussi rouge et de saveur prononcée.
